• By: Atari
  • Released: 1981
  • Display: Vertical (cocktail and upright modes)
  • Pinout: Custom
  • CPU: 6502
  • Players: 2 (alternating play)
  • Identifying Marks: ATARI and Centipede etched into PCB just above one of the edge connectors.
  • Centipede features very eye-catching, bright contrasting colors set on a black background (which is one of the reasons I like the game even if it's just running in just in attract mode). A computer monitor just does not do the graphics justice. The nice thing about arcade monitors is how they blend pixels enough to make things look smooth, while still appearing crisp.
